WeFew winemaker Brandon Lapides and Bodkin winemaker Chris Christensen knew that individually they had talent, but it was not until they collaborated that they realized that together they could make the world a better place, one glass of Sauvignon Blanc at a time.
The grapes for this one-time lot were sourced from the Rogers Vineyards on the east bank of Dry Creek and were handpicked, gently de-stemmed and laid to chill in tank on a bed of dry ice for 24 hours. This extended skin contact was then softly pressed, revealing the most exquisite juice imaginable for fermentation. Phenolics and thiols for days!
Five different yeasts were utilized in total, including indigenous yeast. These yeasts did the work in stainless steel tanks and concrete egg along with French, American and Acacia barrels for increased fermentative diversity. The finished wine is a love child of the fruitful minds of a couple of regular dudes who love Sauvignon Blanc. They chose to craft a wine for the Barrel Auction using ancient wisdom, modern tools and a track record that includes a combined 10 Sauvignon Blancs rated 90 points or higher from Wine Enthusiast over the past three vintages.
A winemaker dinner or store visit is offered as part of this lot. Must be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date and booked within a year of receipt.
