For more than 100 years, the Sebastiani Family has crafted wines which exude true Sonoma elegance. For the last 40 of those years, they have grown Chardonnay on their family-owned vineyard “Watmaugh Ranch” in Sonoma Valley. This exceptional vineyard is located in the cool, breezy southernmost part of the Valley, bordering Carneros and nestled between two mountain ranges: the Mayacamas Mountains to the east, and the Sonoma Mountains to the west.
It’s a revered region known for its unique terroir and ultra-premium wines. This one-of-a-kind, single vineyard, 100% Chardonnay is made from the Hyde clone—native to Sonoma. Winemaker Gloria Mercado-Martin enhances the quality of fruit in the winemaking process by implementing malolactic fermentation and “batonnage” (hand-stirring the wine on its lees), which, when combined, yields a silky mid-palate. This one-of-a-kind Chardonnay is a bright, unique bottling with the ideal contrast of fresh minerality and soft creaminess, ideal for collectors who appreciate the perfect expression of Chardonnay.
A winemaker dinner or store visit is offered as part of this lot. Must be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date and booked within a year of receipt.
