Since DuMOL’s first harvest in 1996 they have thoughtfully assembled a collection of vineyard sites that they individually farm to capture their full beauty—and they have earned a reputation for crafting highly regarded wines. To commemorate their 21st vintage working with the iconic Dutton Family, DuMOL has selected this special parcel of heritage-clone Pinot Noir grown in the high-elevation Dutton-Jentoft Vineyard east of Occidental. Planted on shallow upland marine sandstone soils, these mature vines work hard to produce a small, intense crop each year.
In the 2016 vintage the wine is alive with vibrant dark fruits, intense electric acidity and lovely clarity of flavor along the entire arc of the wine. This vineyard lot has never been individually bottled before but the quality is second-to-none and a testament to the Dutton Family’s long history of world-class grape growing.
