ABOUT THE WINE

Established in 2007 by the visionaries responsible for Napa Valley’s Far Niente Winery, EnRoute is the culmination of a more than 30-year passion for Pinot Noir. Their journey convinced them that the Russian River Valley offers the best opportunity to craft the focused, textured, yet graceful, Pinot Noir wines they wanted to create. In the search for vineyards to comprise their award-winning wines, the team made a serious and deep commitment to the region, establishing vineyards and a winery devoted to capturing the magical essence of Pinot Noir. One of these vineyards is the Northern Spy Vineyard in the very cool Green Valley region of Sonoma County. Only 10 miles from the Pacific Coast, temperatures here are significantly cooler than most other parts of the Russian River Valley, resulting in more hang time and longer ripening potential for the grapes.

For this special lot, Winemaker Andrew Delos fermented and aged the wine in a special concrete tank in order to add depth, complexity, elegance and nuance. This method of fermentation and aging has consistently produced the favorite lot of the vintage, and the wine will be bottled separately for the first time ever.
