Perched atop soaring coastal ridges that border the Pacific Ocean, Flowers Vineyards and Winery’s estate vineyards were some of the first planted on the extreme Sonoma Coast. The maritime breeze and coastal fog cools the vineyards during the heat of summer, allowing fruit to fully mature with fresh, complex flavors and lively acidity. The geographical area in which it is located represents less than one percent of the Sonoma Coast AVA; the immeasurable quality of this tiny region’s fruit, however, far exceeds its size.
Since 1989, Flowers has been committed to crafting expressive wines that capture the spirit of the Sonoma Coast. Winemaker Chantal Forthun has taken the theme of “never before, never again” quite seriously, and she has selected to present the first-ever block of Chardonnay that Flowers has ever produced. The very best block of Hyde-Old Wente Chardonnay, Block 3, has been carefully chosen to create a beautiful expression of both Flowers and the entire West Sonoma Coast. It is a wine that not only captures the untamed essence of the Sonoma Coast, but also promises a sensory glimpse into the history of one of Sonoma County’s most prestigious wineries.
A winemaker dinner or store visit is offered as part of this lot. Must be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date and booked within a year of receipt.
