Founded in 1972 by Tom and Sally Jordan, Jordan Vineyard & Winery has set the standard for Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon Bordeaux-style blends for four decades. Under the direction of second-generation vintner John Jordan and Rob Davis, the winemaker whose hands have crafted every vintage of Jordan since the inaugural 1976, Jordan Vineyard & Winery continues to innovate and elevate.
The 2016 vintage marked the 40th anniversary of Jordan’s 1976 Cabernet Sauvignon, and as a tribute to the first vintage, Davis has created a special wine made with the rare, original blend—only assembled once before in Jordan history. This five-case lot will be aged with the original regimen of 50% French and 50% American barrels, which includes a two-year-old Château Lafite Rothschild barrel to round out the new oak tannins. This lot also includes an overnight stay at the Jordan Chateau for two in one of the winery’s exclusive suites overlooking the barrel rooms, and a private tasting at the winery with food pairings. It also includes dinner for two with a member of the Jordan winemaking staff at Catelli’s in Geyserville—where the Jordans dined with Andre Tchelistcheff in the 1970s and hired him as their winemaking consultant.
