El Coro means “the chorus”, and this certified-sustainable Petaluma Gap vineyard sings with the elegance and complexity offered by the ten Pinot Noir clones that are planted there. Keller Estate has given life to this exclusive blend of 2017 Pinot Noir from the El Coro Vineyard, an extraordinary high-altitude location overlooking the Petaluma River. The constant wind of the Petaluma Gap helps to thicken the grape skins, increasing the depth and flavor of wines from this site. This unique blend of Pinot Noir clones is meticulously chosen by Winemaker Alex Holman to express the subtle characteristics of Keller Estate and the Petaluma Gap.
Keller Estate’s winemaking philosophy is centered around producing small lots utilizing native fermentation, long cold soaks and low fermentation temperatures—all executed in its one-of-a-kind gravity fed cellar. Holman matches the clones to specific French coopers of low- to medium impact barrels to compliment the natural spice and mineral character found in this rarified terroir. The resulting wine, exclusively designed for the 2018 Barrel Auction, is a harmonious, complex wine with prominent fruit. It is a wine with a voice, and it promises to delight the senses of even the most discerning collector.
A winemaker dinner or store visit is offered as part of this lot. Must be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date and booked within a year of receipt.
