The Kunde Estate was established in 1904 by Louis Kunde and planted with imported cuttings from renowned producers Chateaux Margaux and Lafite Rothschild. The vineyard operation and the establishment of the Kunde Family Winery was just the beginning of a now fifth-generation legacy. For more than a century, the Kunde Family has farmed what is now a 1,850-acre estate in the heart of Sonoma Valley. And, Kunde was one of the first wineries to be bonded by the state of California in the early 1900’s.
Today, the Kunde Family Winery is a symbol of the past with a nod to the future, proudly bearing the estate’s century-old Bonded Winery Number 202. The Kunde Family’s winemaking mission is to craft elegant, estate grown, sustainably farmed wines with an authentic sense of place. This decadent red blend, harvested from the windswept mountain top ridges of the Kunde Estate, presents succulent black and red fruit aromas with flavors of intense red plum and a hint of savory on its full-mouth finish.
