ABOUT THE WINE

In 1989, when Saralee Kunde and her husband Richard planted what is now Saralee’s Vineyard, Sonoma County was in the midst of a transformation. This magnificent estate, whose name is now synonymous with quality, ultimately played a seminal role in establishing the famed Russian River Valley as a premier winegrowing region and as California’s most coveted source of Pinot Noir.

Located in the heart of the region, this esteemed vineyard is now the estate home of La Crema, 27 years after the first plantings went into the ground. This auction lot is designed to showcase and build on the tradition established by Saralee and Richard with an eye on the past, yet looking to the future with this classic La Crema style Pinot Noir blended from the best single lot this iconic vineyard has to offer.
