The Martinelli family has been growing grapes and making wine in the Russian River Valley for more than 130 years. To this day, the Martinelli family still sells more grapes than are used to make their own wines; about 90% of the grapes they farm are sold to other Sonoma County wineries and crafted into critically-acclaimed bottlings.
This unique Pinot Noir comes from one small block off the Martinelli Moonshine Ranch Vineyard, named after a century-old barn that still stands on the family’s property. During its heyday in the Prohibition Era, this barn served as a small factory for prune brandy. Although those days are long gone, this wine still reflects the spirit of the times with its power and beautiful ripeness. This racy, brooding Pinot Noir, full of fabulous fruit on the attack, will take you to the moon and back, and promises to be a prized possession in anyone’s collection.
