ABOUT THE WINE

Kissed by the sun and swept  by the wind, this Chardonnay from the Petaluma Gap truly is Liquid Sunshine—Soleil Liquide! Sourced from Block 1 of the Sunchase Vineyard, located at 1,000 feet, this traditional Burgundian-style Chardonnay is made from Champagne Perrier-Jouet’s Clone 95 and individually barrel fermented for 16 months using 40% new extra-fine grain French oak. It underwent extended battonage following primary fermentation and will be aged sur lie until bottling for additional depth and complexity.

You will find hints of hazelnuts and brioche complementing its minerality and balanced acidity, as well as flavors of honey, citrus and tropical fruit. Winemakers Tom Rinaldi and Eric Risch have created this ultimate Chardonnay exclusively for the Barrel Auction, and it is destined to shine brightly in any collection.
