ABOUT THE WINE

Designated on December 7, 2017 as the country’s newest American Viticultural Area (AVA), the Petaluma Gap is one of California’s most coveted Pinot Noir regions. In the spirit of celebrating this uniquely exciting wine enclave, these members of the Petaluma Gap Winegrowers have collaborated on a never before, never again Pinot Noir. This lot is sourced from prestigious vineyards throughout the Petaluma Gap and was developed as one of two lots from the Petaluma Gap Winegrowers to showcase great men and women winemakers that are leading the way in this thrilling new region.

The wind and the fog are the Petaluma Gap’s trademark. The “Gap” is actually a wind gap named after a coastal mountain divergence that stretches east from the Pacific, through the town of Petaluma, and then roars south to San Pablo Bay. This exceptional blend was created by the Petaluma Gap’s male winemakers, and is named ANEMOI for the Greek gods of the wind. It is a dramatic name, fitting for this man-made wine from a region everyone is talking about.
