David Ramey’s years of experience and innovation have cemented his reputation as one of the world’s finest winemakers. On its front cover, the March 2015 issue of Decanter featured Ramey Chardonnay as one of the “World’s Best Chardonnays (Outside Burgundy).”
This is your chance to bid on 20 six-pack cases of Ramey’s “never before, never again” Chardonnay lot. This exquisite lot is a blend of two vineyards, Ritchie and Woolsey Road, planted to the Old Wente field selection—one old (44 years) and one new (10 years), one wide-spaced and one narrow. Using the classical Burgundian techniques Ramey is famous for, these exceptional Russian River Valley blocks were harvested at night, whole cluster-pressed to François Frères barrels for native primary and secondary fermentations and aged sur lies. After a light fining using traditional methods, these 20 six-pack cases will be hand-bottled without filtration. True to the Ramey style, you will find this unique Chardonnay to be the perfect balance of Old World techniques and the best of New World fruit.
