Brothers Giuseppe and Pietro Simi came to California in 1876 to find gold, and instead they found the stunning Alexander Valley, where they produced their first wine. Today, under the skillful watch of Winemakers Susan Lueker and Lisa Evich, SIMI continues to exemplify the quality and history of Sonoma County winemaking and to reach new heights with every vintage. As a celebration of their lofty accomplishments, SIMI offers this High Elevation Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon—a wine that captures the essence of this heritage winery.
Known for its diverse soils and varied topographies, from valley floor to benchlands and mountains, Alexander Valley produces wines of great complexity and character. In this never before, never again offering, SIMI highlights three of Alexander Valley’s high elevation vineyards: Deridere, Alden and Big River Ranch. In each of these unique locations, the stressed vines, varying aspects and diverse soils contribute to a wine of great intensity. The finished wine delivers flavors of blackberry and blueberry with fine grain tannins, rich body and a long elegant finish.
