St. Francis Winemaker Katie Madigan’s love of Burgundy is reflected in her finely-crafted Pinot Noir. For this one-of-a-kind Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, Katie worked with one of the world’s foremost Burgundy winemakers, Jacques Lardiere. Jacques is well-known as the winemaker for Maison Louis Jadot in Burgundy, and he now makes wine at Jadot’s Oregon Resonance Vineyard.
Spending time in France and working with Jacques in Oregon have added to Katie’s resolve to create finely-tuned Pinot Noir with a nod to Old World tradition, while still embracing the unique qualities of cool-climate Sonoma Pinot. For this five-case lot, Katie will create a 2016 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir aged 15 months using one of Jacques’s very own Gran Cru barrels. The collaboration brings Old World methods to a modern-styled wine, and it promises a full flavored, aromatic, complex and textured Pinot Noir.
A winemaker dinner or store visit is offered as part of this lot. Must be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date and booked within a year of receipt.
