Six years ago, Peay Vineyards, Red Car Wine Company, Failla Wines, Freeman Vineyard & Winery, Littorai Wines and Joseph Phelps Vineyard created the West Sonoma Coast Vintners (WSCV) to explore this dramatic coastal landscape and to bring attention to the distinguished wines and exciting viticultural possibilities of the West Sonoma Coast. This lot is one of five one-time-only collaborations designed to showcase the diversity of WSCV wineries and to offer a never before, never again wine that celebrates their commitment to creating the finest wines from a truly remarkable region.
The all-female power duo of Banshee’s Jenny Schultz and Flowers’ Chantal Forthun have applied their significant skills to create a rare bottling of two of the standout vineyards of the Sebastopol Hills district, Peterson Vineyard and Thorn Ridge Vineyard. These two precision-farmed, family-owned sites experience cool days and mild night temperatures allowing the vines to continue to produce flavor even after sunset. The resulting wine is deeply textured, broad and soft with high acidity, lots of red and blue fruit notes and prominent savory complex elements like bergamot tea and dried thyme. It is a quintessential coastal Pinot Noir crafted by two of Sonoma County’s superstar winemakers.
