From the Rhône Valley to Sonoma Valley, Westwood Wines strives to learn from history while writing its own. On the estate, the Annadel Gap Vineyard is located in the northernmost part of the Sonoma Valley, where the morning fog and afternoon winds are channeled by Sonoma and Hood Mountains. It’s blessed with perfect conditions for fruit that benefits from slower maturation. Soft morning fog covers the vineyard until noon most days, and the afternoons are bathed in cool westerly winds ushered in from the ocean. The site is ideally suited to making exceptional Burgundian and Rhône-based wines.
The team at Westwood farms follows organic and biodynamic methods to preserve the integrity of the fruit and capture the essence of its terroir. Despite its small size, the winery has planted a myriad of varietals for a spectacular palette to craft world-class wines. “Annadel Gap’s Crown Jewels” is a celebration of balance between the floral and herbal notes of Syrah with the red-fruited lushness of Grenache.
