HOOK AND LADDER WINERY RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY
Hook And Ladder Winery 707.526.2255 |
Description: In 1970 San Francisco firefighter Cecil De Loach and his wife Christine staked their claim in the wine grape business by purchasing 24 acres of old-vine zinfandel in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. With their first earnings, they bought more land and planted vines along Olivet Road.
They watched others make notable wine from their grapes until producing wine under their own De Loach label in 1975. 30 years later Cecil and Christine sold that brand, and continue their winegrowing skills at their new family winery employing a simple philosophy: craft small amounts of exceptional hand-made wines, from the highest quality grapes, that people love to drink.
On 375 acres situated in the Russian River Valley, their vineyards produce cool climate grapes widely recognized as some of the finest in the world. Building on the knowledge and experience of local pioneering 1800's zinfandel winegrowers, they have matched the soil and climate of each parcel with the varietal most likely to achieve its full potential.

Today, in addition to zinfandel, they produce top-rated chardonnay, pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, gewurztraminer, white-zinfandel, and a red blend called "The Tillerman."
