From the same Latin root as “donation,” Donum translates as “gift of the land.” The Donum Estate represents the vision of winegrower Anne Moller-Racke, who has farmed grapes in Carneros for over 30 years, along with the talents of winemaker Kenneth Juhasz. Since the first release in 2001, the focus has been on limited productions of estate grown, vineyard-designated Pinot Noir. Today, Anne farms three vineyards, including the acclaimed Donum Ranch in Carneros, consisting of 70-acres devoted to Dijon clone and heritage clone Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and a second celebrated property: eleven acres in the Russian River Valley dedicated to Dijon clone Pinot Noir. Based on a Burgundian grand cru model, The Donum Estate selects the best lots and blocks each vintage in order to craft vineyard-driven Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay noted for their depth, intensity and longevity.
