Description: Among his many achievements, Betsy’s Father was an old goldminer, who - with Betsy and her four sisters in tow - worked a claim in the foothills of Alaska’s Mt. McKinley.
He would secretly record the dates on three coins and toss them down the hill where Betsy and her sisters were hard at work mining. If those three coins weren’t at the bottom of the sluice box (it had to be those exact three coins) at clean up, that meant the water pressure had been too high and they’d washed the coins into the tailing pile … along with some of the gold. In later years, David, Betsy’s then newly minted husband, learned the hard way that panning for the three coins and missed gold in the tailing pile was not a job he - or Betsy and her sisters - much enjoyed.
Finding those three coins before they went into the tailing pile was as rewarding for Betsy and David as any gold nugget ever was. And so it is today. The Three Coins® name symbolizes the patience, hard work and special care that go into every bottle of Three Coins® wine.
