This story begins well over 30 years ago when two teamsters, Ben Papapietro and Bruce Perry, while working together in the transportation department of a well-known newspaper agency, discovered a mutual passion. At a dinner party in his home, Ben offered Bruce a tour of his extensive wine cellar. It was in the chill of his cellar that the two realized they had more in common than just a job. They shared an enthusiasm for wine and a winemaking heritage. Both men grew up in families where home winemaking was a tradition. Their united passion made them natural partners. The partners adopted this philosophy of winemaking; start with the finest fruit, hand craft in small lots, and allow gravity to move the juice to ensure the quality and integrity of the wine is not compromised. Specializing in Pinot Noir, allows them to really understand the capricious nature of this varietal, perfecting their craft to produce a wine that will please the most discerning palate.Working closely with our growers ensures the finest fruit nature will allow. This coupled with a non-interventionist style of winemaking, guarantees our customers will receive the quintessential experience of grapes to glass.
