Sonoma County Vintners Are Coming To Austin

Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, May 6, 2009 – Sonoma County Vintners, the association of Sonoma County wineries promoting the region's diversity and quality, is headed to Austin May 18-21 for a series of wine seminars and tastings for Austin trade and consumers.

Week of tasting events scheduled at top Austin retailers

Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, May 6, 2009 – Sonoma County Vintners, the association of Sonoma County wineries promoting the region's diversity and quality, is headed to Austin May 18-21 for a series of wine seminars and tastings for Austin trade and consumers. The "Sonoma in the City: Austin" tour is also being sponsored by the Sonoma County Winegrape Commission and the Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Alliance.

"We chose to come to Austin because as a city it is a good match for the wines of Sonoma County," explained SCV Executive Director Honore Comfort. "Austin has a vibrant restaurant scene and a central location. We think it's a great place to share Sonoma County's artisanal, food-friendly, high quality wines.."

In celebration of so many Sonoma wineries arriving in town, several Austin retailers are hosting events with Sonoma County Vintners member wineries during the week:

•  Tuesday, May 19th, 4-8 PM : Tasting Event at Twin Liquors in the Marketplace @ Hancock, 1000 East 41 St., Austin (512) 451-7400
